The Advanced Mold Design and the directional tread design upgrade the dry, wet, and winter grip. The BFGoodrich g-Force COMP-2 A/S+ enhances its year round traction. The special Performance Tread Profile enhances the cornering power as well, as it enables the tire's better traction during maneuvering. This improves the high speed durability, while improving the steering responsiveness and driving stability. They maintain the ideal tire shape under the load pressure, while the tread ensures the surface contact.

The ETEC System, the Dynamic Suspension System, and the g-Control sidewall inserts help to upgrade the high speed handling. This model manages to boost its overall controllability. The optimal mold design ensures even pressure circulation across the tread area, boosting the overall service and tread life. This combination enables the tire to upgrade the grip on the road surface, which prevents irregular and premature wear formations. The tire utilizes the Advanced Mold Design and the ideal tread design in order to boost the usability. BFGoodrich offers a 45,000 mile treadwear warranty with this model. I think that you would have to be near or exceed the maximum recommended tire pressure (50 psi) on the tire to cause the steel belts to bulge enough in the center of the tread to cause them to wear unevenly. The BFGoodrich g-Force COMP-2 A/S+ is a highway terrain, all season tire made for passenger vehicles and SUVs.

FWIW, I would never underinflate below the manual recommended psi, but I think it is okay to overinflate 5 to 10 pounds above the manual psi. Below about 30, the ride feels a bit cushy and turns feel less tight. I now run at 32, gives me a firm not harsh ride. Finally, I just did the same thing that Gary Fish just advised, and just adjusted until I found a psi I liked. I posted in 's tire forum and got various advice. When I took it to the dealer for a scheduled service, they said it was okay to keep it high, but then they went and rotated my tires as part of the service and they dropped the pressure to 30.

I called tire shop who did the original install and they recommended to keep it high for performance. SJK: I don't have the BFG's, but I went through exactly the same thing as you when I bought my NB with new tires several months ago. You just need to be able to feel the performance differences. Don't let someone else tell you that you're wrong. If you can't tell the difference, then it doesn't matter. To aid consistency, always measure the pressure when the tires are cold.) Raise the pressure 1 or 2 psi at a time and re-evaluate the performance. (It doesn't necessarily have to be an accurate gauge, but it must be consistent. Use the 26psi starting point, and use a gauge that gives you a consistent reading. Only you can determine the best tire pressure for you. This is typically the maximum rated pressure for the tire - it has no relationship to the "best" pressure. Too much or too little pressure will give uneven treadwear.ĭo not use the pressure indicated on your tire's sidewall. A bit more pressure may be desired for higher performance situations where less sidewall flex might be needed. However, it is not necessarily the "best" pressure, depending on what you are trying to do. This is your starting point and is generally considered a good balance between ride comfort, handling, and road noise. The owner's manual calls for 26psi of tire pressure. I suspect he may have misunderstood the question. If the sales rep told you that your Miata tires should be inflated to 38-42, he was wrong. That said - tire pressure "recommendations" are specific to a vehicle, and are not absolute based on the tire. This thread might have triggered more replies had it been posted in the Tires section.
